So i finally got everything here today, cases, Drives, and my p5b showed up, so i go along, hook everything up, make sure all the power is connected everywhere it needs to be, you know the usual.

And then I goto power on the first time and boom, everything starts up, no post beeps from the speaker (atleast that I heard) but I get no video...monitor stays on standbye.

Have tried swapping video cards (have two brand new 7900's sitting here) Tried swapping monitors, nothing.

Im slowly running out of ideas, so if you guys have any or could help in anyway, it would be much appreciated.

System is as follows

E6600
P5b deluxe wifi/ap
2gigs Corsair xms2
evga 7900gt ko
seagate 320g 7200.10
and some random dvd burner
 
did you try stoking it up outside the case before nailing everything in? you might want to try that, will eliminate shorts etc. you should always do that, easier to troubleshoot and easier to swap out parts if there is a prob.
anyway, most of these problems are ram or psu. certain boards only deliver 1.8v to ram at boot, certain ram needs 2.0v-2.1v to run. for reasons unknown to me, some power supplies are not working with conroe boards. if you can, swap these components out.
 
Yah I've since pulled everything out, and same thing, tried the power supply swap, did nothing, dont have any other ram sitting around though, although if that was the case, wouldnt I atleast get some kind of post beep?

Usually if your not getting errors and something is still wrong then its the mobo.

Mobo is the one that will help you with errors and if that doesnt give you beeps and codes then its most likely something is wrong in that department.

You are on most mobo,s going to get one beep if the POST went perfect but if you don't get that then maybe your speaker is not attached or something wrong in the mobo dept.
 
I got the same exact error. But then I realized that I didnt plug in the second power cable... Silly me... So double check your connections. Try resetting the CMOS. Your XMS2 should run fine with the board... Also try going on the Asus forums, plenty of people with your problem, check there.
 
Welp, got em both working. Ended up ripping everything apart and started getting beeps, ended up being one of the sticks of ram, so I guess its rma time, aside from that though, both boxes are running perfectly. Think later tonight I'll see how fast I can get these E6600s runnin :>
