Mine works good, but it's the first MSI board I've used so I can't say either way.
 
My work rig runs a/an K8N Neo. It is a great board. Runs my 3200 at 2.6Ghz no problem.
 
I think they're pretty good. Not my personal favorite, but I've never had a problem either.

I ran a K8N Neo Platinum for a long time. Ran a K7N2 Delta-L for a while. Ran some super-cheap kt133 board of theirs for a long time until the thunderbird died. Ran some other sis 745-based board in a friend's box for a while. Never had a problem with them.
 
Well I have seen my share of good ones and bad ones. I've only ever owned one myself, and I've reviewed 2 for the [H] and both of those were fine.

They are one of the better motherboard manufacturers, but not the best in my opinion.

I haven't messed with enough of their newer Intel boards to know much about them, but it always seemed to me that their AMD compatible motherboards were much better than their Intel compatible motherboards.
 
MSI is a solid choice as long as you don't go for the K8N Neo4 series. They have a bug that just killed overclocking after 219 FSB. I know the next mobo I buy will be a K9A Platinum.
 
I absolutly hate MSI boards. This is from experiences with many of their boards. Unstable, poorly engineered peices of crap.

Thanks for the heads up I was just looking at one of these, thought it was a good deal. Guess not!

Anyways, my MSI got all the way up to the mobo max (280) stable (replaced the stock NB HSF though), so I'd guess MSIs are quite overclockable. I leave it at 240 now because of some ventalation issues, but it's quite good. Check the suicide clocks in my sig.

really? odd. i loved how well both my msi's overclocked for how few tweaking options they had compared to the dfi's that replaced them :D
 
Ugh, unless they've made some major changes in the last year, this was the first and last msi mobo I'll ever buy.
 
Running a MSI board right now. OC's like a champ, never had an issue getting hardware to work or anything. I did have to RMA one, but it wasn't MSI's fault, bad PSU killed the board.

Even the budget boards are great, cheap and loads of features, least the ones I have used. Built tons of machines for people with MSI boards and they are still up and running today.

Can't say the same for most of the Asus boards I have used in the past.
 
running a K8N Neo2 Platinum right now. Decent board, but PICKY AS HELL with RAM. I even have RAM on their 'tested good' list, and I battle intermittent issues (BSOD's for a couple weeks at a time that mysteriously appear and then vanish.. usually after the RAM is reseated) I've run tests on the RAM in multiple boards and never gotten an error. :rolleyes:

I dont hate MSI, but i wont buy form them anymore. Nowhere near as good quality as their older boards.
 
I voted "teh suck" even though I didn't want too..

I bought a K8N Diamond Plus 5 months ago and this last week it stopped booting regularly. I really loved the board while it worked.
 
Keep it coming guys, I want to get the best gauge I can on MSI boards. Anyone have the AM2 Crossfire board at all?
 
the msi nf4 boards definitely seemed to have issues, but then again, one of my closest friends has one with an X2.. it even ran 3 sticks of ram without a problem :eek:
 
I'm a little outdated, but I voted da bomb. I'm running a K7N2 Delta2, upgraded from a K7N2 Delta because it didn't have SATA. My only qualm is that the 13x multi doesn't work, so I can't hit 2.6 with my XP mobile. Aww well. 2.4 is quite fine :D

I have the MSI K9A Platinum, and it works perfectly. Granted, I haven't done much overclocking, but for stability wise this board hasn't given me a single problem.
 
I'm getting the good feeling that they're decent boards, while some people get the lemons.

I'm not much of an OC'er so it's looking like that SB600 board will do me justice.

I would sill appreciate more feed back, maby some one who owns the crossfire board.

My review board didn't either. I was pleased with it, but dissappointed in the overclocking capabilities of the board.

Sorry, but Ive had to RMA every MSI board ive owned over a 7 year period (first one I had was in 1999) at least once, most of them twice or more. Overclocking or not. Ive owned 4 (IIRC) and all have had different issues and died for different reasons. Ive never had these problems with Asus, Abit, or Intel. Sure, they all make some crappy boards, but MSI makes consistantly crappy boards in my experience.

Take Dan's opinion to heart! Many [H] fans do!

I've assembled over two dozen systems using MSI motherboards (from KT133A through NF4)... except for the ones that were intentionally torn down for upgrade purposes, all are still running without issue. I have not used any of the MSI boards that support Intel CPUs, but I'm sure their QC is similar for those products. I've been using MSI instead of Asus/Abit/DFI/Gigabyte for my "budget" conscious clients... so far, I haven't had any complaints. Sorry, I have not used an MSI for any Crossfire or SLI setups I've put together so far.

Been happily running a MSI K8N Neo-Platinum nF3 w/3200 winnie @ 2.2ghz for a couple years now.

Have a kt600 socket a that's been on for 2 years and it's still kickin
 
I would like to know if you can up the DDR2 voltage to 2.1 because my OCZ needs that to hit it's timings.

I read thru the manual and it doesn't show what voltages are offered and was wondering is someone could let me know.

This is for the K9A Diamond Crossfire board.

I have been using MSI mobo's for years and love them. In my newest AM2 rig I went Asus though. I've had the best luck with MSI and would continue to buy them. At the time of my purchase for motherboards, I heard MSI was having some issues being worked out with their 590 mobo, thats why I went Asus.
 
i've owned 1. i had to RMA it once (dont remember if that was my fault or not). its been pretty solid. i have not OCed it though. it is a nice stable board.
 
Love my K8N Diamond Plus.. No problems at all. :D

Edit: This is my 4'th MSI mobo, and I've never had a bad one.

i like MSI, had 2 of their boards. K7N2-L and Neo4-F nf4 vanilla mod to ultra, both are still running and never had a single problem.
 
MSI boards are generally pretty good, but some models are hit or miss.
 
I have built about 20 systems using the MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum board (which are now discontinued I think) and thats what is in my system right now. All of them have Suse installed on them and none of them have had any issues...so i/m/o I think they are solid. I can't say the same about Tyan, Gigabyte or Asus :p

** yea there are different versions on newegg but not the model I have. I know my distributor doesnt have them.
 
Does anyone have info on what DIMM voltage settings are available on the K9A Diamond? I check the [H] review screen shots but there were not shots of the mem voltages. :(

I fuckin love my Neo4 Platinum. IMO one of the best boards they've ever made. I've owned... three MSI mobo's and loved all of them :).
