Currently using MX700, getting a MX1000. Whats the best mousepad? Mine is worn to hell and back.

Icemat black 2nd ed. IMHO the best pro mousepad.
It's big, solid, has very good gliding surface. Both MX700 and MX1000 will have no sensor problems on it.
 
I love my fUnc Surface 1030. 7 months, no wearing down at all. :D
 
My pad is fine, but my mx610s poor little feet are starting to show some wear. Anyone know where you can by replacement feet?
 
The corepad is very nice but sort of hard to find. It has a few advantages over the icemat like safety glass (great if your girlfriend wants to smash you in the head with the nearest blunt object) and a quieter surface according to reviews, cheaper too. I've never used an icemat though but just having a glass surface makes a huge difference. My previous mouse pad was plastic, was loud and sucked in general. Check out some reviews for it, I measured it up to the func, steelpad, everglide and icemat and thought it was the best of the bunch.
 
The Phatpad from Fatal1ty's website is truly great- a HUGE friggin' cloth mat that is really accurate, and no wearing whatsoever after 100's of hours of use.
 
best pad on the market.. either icemat or the steelpad 4s.. i currently use the steelpad 4s because of the dimensions.. i use more left to right space than up and down.. the icemat has less left to right space and more up and down space than the steelpad
 
Don't get the MX1000. A lot of them have MASSIVE flaws with them that make them impossible to play FPSs with.
 
Ratzpad's blowww.... wear out way to quick and they ruin your mouse's surface... just got a func 1030 and i couldn't be happier.
 
Icemat 2 for big smoothest pad
Destrukt Cloth Pad for really big comfortable not-cold-like-icemat pad
Func 1030 for smaller, lower profile smoothness
Ratpadz GS sucks balls
Ratpadz Original (cant buy anymore) was awsome
Steelpad 4s is good but Icemat is bettah
Steelpad 4d is alright, kinda too shiny/slippery
$1 clothies are good for web surfing

Basically either Icemat 2, Destrukt, Func1030 or 4s and you'll be happy.

Also, like the dude few posts above said, MX1000 isnt very good for games, if thats what you do. Get a diamonback if your playing games :p
 
I use a rival pad, which I think is essentially the same as a destrukt or fatal1ty pad :rolleyes:

but before that I used a func, those were good but after a while the bottom part of the rubber holder would sort of curl and deform from use :(

Please stop spreading this BS. I have a MX1000 and I play FPSs just fine. In fact I was second place in every game i played with my friends during last weekends LAN. Only think keeping me out of first was my insane housemate who is an amazing Q3 player.

Your only allowed to make comments about the MX1000 if you own one :D

I have had 2 fUnc 1030s and loved them, Only reason i had to buy the second one was that a half height 8 pound skis drive falling from my desk dented my old one. Saved the desk from any damage though, and was still quite useable!
 
I get the feeling I'm the lone voice in a crowd, but I really love the everglide pads. They're huge, hard, and incredibly smooth. I haven't noticed any wearing and I've used it since Quakecon this year.
 
Xtrac Hammer is great, Its big, 11x17 and has held up great for the past year.

I own an MX1000. Guess what? It has problems. It's not BS. Not all of them have it but a lot do.

That's the best choice. Getting a MX1000 is a lot like playing Russian Roulette.
 
I love my ratpad, but the new version wore out a lot quicker than the old one.

Sure, the old one would need new feet glued on, but I used it for a year and a half before replacing with new and not a whole lot of wear and tear....new one started out nicer but wore out a lot quicker.... debating get another one
 
Icemat is going to be the most popular choice. There was a mousepad thread pretty recently. Anways, what are some feet that you recommend? Teflon skates or whatever makes it glide better.
 
I use the Icemat 2nd editon and its great. It comes with teflon padsurfers but I threw those out and use steelpad padsurfers. They're much better and last longer.
 
I've got a DKT (Destrukt GamingMat) and it's an amazing cloth surface, makes my MX510 movements fast and smooth.

what in the world are you talking about? do you own one? cuz i do and ive never had a single problem with it. i play a lot of FPS's like ut2004, half life 2, halo pc, doom 3, farcry.
if you are going to make allegations about something then back it up with fact and not some rumor youve heard about. bring us facts for an intelligent study plz.

Where the hell did you get that from? I've got an MX1000. One of the first one's released at that. No problems. All I play are FPS for the most part. Doom3, UT2004, Unreal II, Half Life 2, Elite Forces 2, I could go on. What do you mean doesn't work?
 
Honestly did no one read the post where he said he DOES have one and that he IS having problems? Wow.

Anyway, I have a Func 1030, love it, I use a Microsoft Explorer 3.0 Wireless, not the greatest, but I'm planning on getting an MX1000, there's no reason I wouldn't be able to replace it at the store anyway so I assume eventually, if the first one has problems, one of the others wont.

When you pick the mouse up and set it back down it stops responding. Numerous people are having this problem. Here is the response from logitech about it

Once again, let me state this... DO NOT buy an MX1000 unless you are willing to gamble on getting a lame duck mouse that suffers from serious issues and makes playing FPSs nearly impossible, especially with low sensitivity. If you want a gaming mouse, stick to the MX300, MX500, MX510, or MX700.
 
I own A Func, upgraded from a Ratpadz, and it freaking awesome. I am currently using a MX510. My Ratpadz GS wore out in less than 6months.
 
Do yourself a favor and don't spend more than 20 bucks on anything you buy. Get a func pad or a fat/supermat pad.

I agree. it seemed like such a pimp mouse but I didn't wanna risk the problems. Also, you can't forget hte MX310 :)

Ok. I own a MX1000 and I also own an Icepad 2nd Editon pad. My conclusion: MX1000 is no good for games. I do not have the lag issues that many other people have (where you pick it up and it will delay when it lands again) but I do have skipping issues with the ICEMAT pad. If I move the mouse very quick it will skip just like the days of old (IntelliExplorer 1.0 days). That really, really sucks when your playing games. It basically means no quick shots anymore. No fast scrolling. GRANTED: The mouse works PERFECTLY fine on regular surfaces (I could move the thing 1000 mph and it won't skip), so the blame is on the mouse pad (at least for my MX1000). Still, you will notice some wierd movements with the wireless. Hard to explain but it just doesn't feel natural relative to hand movements at times. Currently, I have two mouses plugged in - My old IE 3.0 and my new mx1000. one is for gaming, the other for desktop stuff. It's a pity, the mouse has huge potential.
