Does anyone know of a monitor mount that can clamp on vertically instead of the usual horizontal direction?

Can I buy a standard arm and modify it? Maybe but a vertical c-clamp. Anyone have any ideas how to do this?

He is talking about the location where it mounts to the desk. He wants something that'll mount to a pole.

This mounts horizontally to a flat edge that's horizontal.

He wants something like this:

The bottom image wouldn't be safe as it could slip off. All of the ones that I've seen, clamp horizontal. Aside from that, use a mount that simply sits on top of the desk or uses the pole through a grommet/home in the desk.
