Mobilizing large files

Hello All and Happy New Year!

I have a few large files, the largest a 7 gig archive of a radio program I like. I need to burn it to some media get it off my desktop computer. DVDs have larger capacity, so can I burn the folder to some DVDrs and move it that way? My lappy has a combo drive so will the files be transferrable? The desktop comp has a DVD burner. Is this the best way to do this since I cant do ftp by myself?

Of corse you can burn the files to DVD and put them in your laptop's DVD-ROM and read them. If you're just trying to copy them to your laptop, why not set them up on the same network and transfer them that way?

You will have to burn at least 2 DVD's to get all 7GB backed-up. Or you can buy a dual-layer burner and get them on 1 disc.
 
What OS's are they?
You can use an ethernet cable. Either a crossover cable, or two straight through cables with a hub/switch/router.
 
xp pro--i think ill just burn it all to dvd--cheapest way for this one time thing. thanks alot!
