Mirroring a folder?

I was wondering how I might mirror a folder, so that I can basically have the same folder in two locations, but only need to make changes to it once? I'm guessing maybe I'll need software for this.

LOL! I was really confused by the time of your two posts, didn't notice one was today and the other yesterday. At first it looked like your top post was newer then the one below it (The first post was made at 12:50, the second at 12:15, whaaa?).

I don't know of any solutions, but I'd be very curious to know. In Linux I just setup a bash script which synchronizes one directory with one on my RAID 5 (for email) every night. Not sure what the best way to go about this in Windows would be. Is there some straightforward equivalent in Windows?

Having some service running 24/7 and hogging resources just to synch a directory seems a bit silly when there should be a much simpler solution. Unless of course you need honest to god real-time backups of everything you're doing.
 
Thanks for the response... I havent been having much luck at all getting anyone to respond much to any of my questions lately. I know sometimes its a matter of laziness and one should research their own problems, as I often do, but sometimes the terms don't always make it easy to find what you're looking for on Google.

On that note, you're probably right, I could always make a batch file or something, but then, those haven't always been satisfactory with me, as it seems I can never get them fully automated. :rolleyes:
 
I use a program called filesync to do this. Keep of a folder on one drive and sync it with other drive. works great too... think you can find a copy at downloads.com
 
You have multiple spots for the same folder? Isn't that kinda like a shortcut? At my job, we just put shortcuts to whatever folders we need access too on the server(not everyone needs access to all the folders). But I am assuming this wouldn't work for you?
