Hey guys, I need some help here:

1) IF I have MS Plus for Win 98, would it run on 2000 or XP?

2) I have an old shareware software that run on Win 98, the software comes with a "patch" And run well in Win 98.

Once I installed Win 2000, running the same patch with the same version of that software, it says "Wrong Version." Why?

3) I'm seen a very 3D screen saver that has a 3D water vortex and continues to spiral in front of you. Has anyone seen it? It is not a screen saver from Win 2000, I seriously doubt it is for XP. Looks too good to be free. I even check the ATI and Nvidia free download screen saver, can't find it there.

Edited. Fixed.

1) No, it's not fixed....still talking about patches.

2) It's called MS Plus FOR Windows 98. I'm a little shocked you expected it to run on 2000.

supposedly, they are backwards compatible with all windows based program. I paid for that MS plus for Win 98. They should make XP able to run Win 98 software, especially their own software.

Your missing the basic point. It's software specifically for Windows 98. Your also not understanding backwards compatibility either. Your going in the wrong direction.

This is like saying you expect XP's SP2 to work on Win98. Take a little bit to read about it and understand what your complaining about. Plus for 98 is ONLY for 98. If you want MS Plus for XP, the buy MS Plus for XP. They are mutually exclusive products.

Yup ^^. Reverse Engineering isn't condoned my MS. Windows 2000 is also a business based OS, and wasn't really released for the average consumer. Hence the differences between Windows XP Home and Pro. The only difference there is that alot of programs are designed to work with both, but Home has a consumer based setup.

Cheers,
