Microsoft and Facebook have just announced a new document sharing service called Docs.

Docs.com went live on Wednesday at Facebook's F8 conference. The site allows Facebook users to log in using Facebook Connect and create, edit, and share Microsoft Office documents with their Facebook friends. New documents will show up in a user's news feed, just like status updates or pictures.

Why do I feel like this is going to be infinitely more popular than google docs

This definitely will attract students, but corporations will still be using Office Live, and that's the true source of revenue in Office line.

Google won't just remain idle, and we'll see improvement in Google Docs to counter Facebook without any doubt.

So now Facebook AND Microsoft can simultaneousy data-mine your documents!
