Kiefer Sutherland will play Naked Snake. I just hope that future games staring Solid Snake will still be Hayter.

They said the primary reason for Sutherland was that he was close to 50, same as Naked Snake in this game, and that they wanted someone who can act as well as do the voice over work. MGS V uses facial and motion capturing, so an actor of that age was wanted.
 
Sutherland does a great job with VA work so at least they picked someone good. Still, I will miss Hayter.
 
I have a feeling (maybe wishful thinking) that the choosing of a VA other than Hayter to play Big Boss is to also further differentiate Big Boss and Solid because of the eventual and inevitable time in which they work together; Snake's recruitment into Foxhound and the period leading up to the events depicted in Metal Gear 1+2 (perhaps a re-make/re-imagining will be in the works.) Hayter's not done, we will see Snake (and his brother) and his father together again, for the first time.
