Mass Effect 2 is amazing. IMO, the best game I've played in a long while. I used to play a lot of FPS and like the fact it's based off of the Epic Unreal engine. I like the story line and how they cut out all the BS of having to micromanange so many things that I don't really care about. Also, the more mature subjects and dialogue also add to how enjoyable this game is. If you have not got it yet, do yourself a favor and check it out.

while you're at it, Godfather II is a good movie and The Beatles have made some good albums!

(in all seriousness, go play the first one, it's good too ;) )

I like Caddyshack and Roy Orbison. :) Played the first one and it was nowhere near as good IMO. Some other notables were Half Life and System Shock 2, but neither are as good as this. Refreshing that some sequels are better than the originals.

You probably meant to post this as a reply in one of the approximately 490249266 ME2 threads on this forum but failed at forums? ;)

EDIT: Actually, I just searched and didn't really find 490249266 ME2 threads, or even half a dozen, so my above comment wasn't quite appropriate.

what's wrong with a new thread every now and then. this game deserves it.

OP was expressing his opinion of a computer game in the computer games forums. How about we all mock his lack of search abilities because any form of enthusiasm must be squelched. .

And yes, its an awesome game, many of us have played it and love it. I would have to say ME2 would be in my all time top 10 list. Really looking forward to seeing what ME3 looks like.

Wow you're not very nice, are you? Did someone piss in your coffee this morning?

I must always post in a thread when I have nothing to contribute. I can't just simply move on, I must post a disparaging remark. If someone else posts something that has been posted before, I can't refer them to it - that's too much work. Instead, I'll do as little work as the OP did, then bash them for it.

I came in expecting this to be a thread about Mirrors Edge 2. :(
.

No , it just seems like there is a always tons of extra threads for the same topic/game and its mostly due to no one using the search function on this forum. Its annoying.

I'm glad the OP is discovering ME2 , it was a fantastic game but do we really need thread number 493,343 when any of the previous would be just fine to post in?

I just started Mass Effects 2, and am annoyed at how lazy the devs are on one part. I changed the controls, as any normal person does. Yet it still tells me to do something using the controls that are default. Drives me insane.

Then he'll get slammed for resurrecting a zombie post  Jesus everyone. Ease up. It's not like there are a ton of ME2 threads. Lets bitch at people who jsut discovered Bioshock, Thief, System Shock, Deus Ex or any other game that people like to talk about.

DON'T YOU CHANGE ANYTHING! PLAY THE GAME FIRST!!! ;) Actually I rarely change controls. How does that make someone not normal? :D I don't know what the developers are requesting of me or if I like it until I get to that point of the game where I have to use such feature.

Look behind you .. yea you missed it ..the point

Last I checked there's not a rule against starting a thread about a game that has been discussed before, much less when there are no currently active threads about the game. You need to lighten up, and maybe get some fresh air because you take things too seriously, and coming off as a bit rude.

Never stated it was a rule , just found it annoying as I'm sure I'm not alone on that. I'm allowed to state my opinion. Your welcome to disagree. Also here is an ME thread from 8 days ago : http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1583105

Pretty much nothing else to say.

If you find it annoying than don't read the post or contribute to the thread ... no one is forcing you to.

And I'm not allowed to comment? Pardon me sir , I do beg your forgiveness.

Guess stating an opinion in this thread is too much for some to handle.

And I did state previously I was happy that the OP had "discovered" ME2 but I felt a new thread wasn't really required. You guys need to stop offering me advice and chill out yourselfs.

Yeah, I posted in that thread, and right now it's on the fifth page of clicking back in time through old threads. How is starting a new thread any worse than reviving a basically dead thread? Either way the subject is bumped back up to the top.

We're beating a dead horse at this point , you've made your point and I've made mine. How about we agree to disagree?

OP I recommend that if you haven't played through ME2 as a vanguard you should really do so. Solider is quite boring first time.

edit : the hot link LOL.

Wow, and here I thought I was missing something by not coming here in a year or two. I wonder if we could complain about something less significant. Who cares if someone posts something like this? It's a gaming forum, not some center of higher knowledge. If it gets filled up with multiple threads about a good game, then the game must be good. I don't find myself having trouble finding other topics in here due to this one's existence.

End of ME2 was great, the rest of it, I thought, was okay. Not to be a downer, but I didn't feel like the early parts of the game were very compelling. The end was totally cool.

Bad news bears.

Speaking of the other ME2 (Mirrors Edge 2), it has apparently been canceled:
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-02-14-report-ea-rejects-mirrors-edge-2-pitch

http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/14/mirrors-edge-2-rejected-by-ea/

An EA spokesperson got back to us with this: "Mirror's Edge is an important franchise built by the DICE studio in Stockholm. DICE is currently producing Battlefield 3. Nothing further to announce."

Not really canceled but on the back burner until BF3 is out and has some DLC probably.

Well I hope it's not canceled. I honestly couldn't get all the way through the first game, the pacing was really weird and I kept getting stuck without a clear way to progress... but I liked the concept. It definitely has a lot of potential.

I'm glad someone made this thread. I'm playing through Mass Effect 2 for the first time, and I welcome a thread where I can say "FUCKING AWESOME GAME!!!!".

Feels good to get that out. Now back to stripping planets of their resources for my latest upgrades.

Yeah, I just picked it up a couple of days ago. It's been sitting on my desk ever since, waiting to be played.

Yes, Mass Effect 2 was without a doubt the best game of 2010 for me. I definitely plan on playing through the original ME and ME2 again before 3 comes out, this time as a ruthless renegade. I will take no mercy, I will terrorize the galaxy! Humans, turians, salarians, asari, all who oppose me shall fear my wrath!! Muahahaha!

Except for Wrex. I will again spare Wrex despite his insubordination because deep down he's just a cute little teddy bear.

I kind of want to re-play it, but I got as far as the first real mission in my new playthrough and realized how light of an experience and how easy to beat most of it was. When does ME 3 come out, anyway?

I had the complete opposite reaction. I liked the game up until the end. Specifically, I liked anything that wasn't the main story with Shepard's superior, based on what happened in both ME and ME2.

I tried 3 times to play as a renegade. I just can't do it! I think this means the game really pulls you in and you can identify with the character (or not want to).

Could be that, or it could be that you are not a psychopath.
