I recently swapped out my Zalman-7000cu for an xp-90c and this fan because I was getting craptacular temperatures with it. (60C under load). I thought the xp-90c would be the end of my problems, however..

The fan is plugged into the motherboard header. Cool n quiet is on. Cpu voltage is set at 1.4v . I'm using the thermal compound that came with the heatsink. The heatsink seems to be very firmly attached and can't be moved around at all. Temperature just sitting in bios is 39C. Specs are in sig.

Is it possible there is something wrong with my motherboard or processor?

wont worry about it until it gets close to 65C load also iirc winchesters are infamous for incorrect temp readings

your primary problem is you have a low cfm fan probbably

i won't expect much from a 29CFM fan

but is it me or the core speed and multiplier doubled when on load??

further more the core voltage jumps from 1.056v to 1.392v...

you're saying on OC or on load?

so far from what i've seen, the temp is consistent with the cpu OC

It's not overclocked, 11*200 is stock amd 5*200 is what cool n quiet sets it to when idle. Stock voltage is 1.4v i think.

you need bigger fans...

my system runs at 45C on load on my delta 92mm 110cfm fan at full speed
but it'll climb to 55C if i set it at lower speed by using 7V mod

ambient temp is normally 32C with casing temp about 35C
