anyone pick it up? i got it for xbox the other day. the new Quarterback cone of vision is interesting, makes passing a bit more complicated. still trying to get used to it.

 *gets sacked*

Yeah the QB stuff is interesting, alot harder. I got sacked about 10 times in the first game and threw about 5 INT's, its a little harder than '05.

Im kinda disappointed in this years version only b/c its basically 2005 with new rosters, some what new menu, tweaked modes and that passing vision crap. Nothing really new. I mean you pay 50 bucks and your getting a roster update. EA can do whatever they want now cause they bought the NFL rights. So i bet they made a boat load this year on madden since they didnt put to much into it. If NFL2k series was still around i bet you would have seen a better madden. Now theres no options, They can put out a shitty game every year and ppl will still buy cause its the only football game now.

Is there ANY reason besides money that no company has decided to make a sports game with updateable rosters? Doesn't seem like it would be THAT hard to do...

NFL2k on the dreamcast allowed this
guess they realized it wasn'tt a smart business decision

When will madden games have mini-games in them. Like punt the tur-duck-in in Maddens face, or clean Maddens arteries?

Isn't that what all sports games are? Unless they do a overhaul of the graphics engine, the yearly versions are updated rosters with a few new bells and whistles. Yet, people still buy them year after year.

I agree.... all people want to do is play with the team that won last years superbowl..... like really what is there that you can do to make a football game any better though?.... put it in space?...

Its pretty fun its worth it just because the cowboys are amazing. Just like they will be this year. :D

Anyway, does anyone know how to pull the ball down with the QB and run? It says like L2+Square, but he just falls to the ground.

this is just my copy and paste from the nvnews thread about m06, as it would be pointless to re-type the same stuff....

i just got it in :D, its loading on the hdloader right now. (super fast loading times) will be back in a hour or so on what i think about it compared to 05

edit:
played for about 10 mins.
my initial thought was that the music and the menu's are improved. the graphics look a little sharper than 05, not much but you can notice it if you played enough 05.

ill have to get used to this QB vison stuff to see if its not a gimmick, havent played long enough to give a serious comment on it.

the "drive summary" is pretty cool, i always wanted to see how ive done for that run.

is it me, or do the stadiums look a shit load bigger? lol

The PSP Factor: PS2 owners catch a lucky break—their version of Madden comes packed with a PSP system-link feature, so you can transfer franchise data from the console game and continue playing your season on the PSP edition (which tackles the handheld this September) or vice versa.
ill probably pick up the psp version also, gotta have my madden fix on the go :)

after a day of playing....

the superstar mode (which is pretty similar to the heisman trophy for ncaa) is pretty cool. the AI seems A LOT better. the stats that come up after a TD or in the middle of the game are nice feature like i said earlier. franchise mode, which i havent really touched yet, looks a bit reworked this time around.

ive actually adjusted to the new QB vison and im starting to love it. how you can pass over, behind, infront and next to the defender (if your good enough) to keep the ball away from interceptions is great.

sucks the panthers had to take a hit in points this game due to their horrible season last year, i used them everytime in 05. but the raiders look like my next team to play with as Moss is amazing for offence :p

graphics and the replays look a bit better also, not much, but you really only can tell if you play a lot of 05. the menu's are new and not too clunky, which i like also.

the demo of burnout revenge is pretty cool. funny EA is goin to make arena football next year, im guessing for the next gen console's the way the trailer looked.

i like to get madden every year so its just a cycle for me, regardless of what EA has done to their company outside of the development of the game. im not much of a NBA Live fan (the gameplay just isnt there for me) but the graphics look noticably different for 06 so i might check it out. (rent ;))

i played 1 game of it at my guys house and it blew.
madden 2005 was garbage as well.
any real football console players knows espn football owned madden 2005.
its a shame whta they did to espn sports games
the game play is not there and the runnin is stlil horrible in the game.

Running is horrible? Every defense I played against running seemed normal. But than again you can still just loft the Ball up and score. Yeah Hit right analog stick up and your WR is destined to come down with the ball even if there is 3 defenders there.

Well with the NFL EA sports has rights to all NFL stuff for the next 10 years I think. Plus money is the only reason. They only do minor upgrades to the graphics engines and such. Saying all of that though, I just bought my copy for the Xbox. $39.99 at CC :)

It's probably just L2. I think that's what it is in '05. (Square is dive/slide, btw.)

And on a general note, I'm still playing '05. I probably won't get a new game until '07, since I've pretty much just been keeping up every other year. Especially since the rosters ARE updatable if you play online. In fact, playing Madden online requires downloading the latest rosters.

Madden was made about 30 minutes from me in Maitland, Florida.

At EAs Tiburon Facility.

At the unveiling of the game, They had the Governor there, And as a special feature they made a custom version of the game with Governor Bush, and his brother President Bush, in the game.

President Bush was not there to play the game, but a copy of the custom version was sent to him.
