Does anyone know of any Mac compatible SATA host controller cards (I don't need a raid on this card) that are half-way affordable. All I'm finding are Sonnet cards that are $230+. I found a heck of a good deal on a SATA hard drive a few weeks back, and I'd like to put it in my PowerMac G4, but can't afford to do it at the prices I'm finding.
 
I actually have a SATA card that should work in a mac, its a Promise Fasttrak TX2200. Its actually a raid card, but i just wanna get rid of it and am letting it go cheap. If you're interested please let me know, i have a FS thread up for it. If those two cards work in a Mac, im pretty sure mine would too:

I dunno, cause it's for sale at macmall...and the links are for one card, not two. And I suggested that the original poster check with promise to make sure it's ok :eek:
 
Well, I tried the Promise cards this weekend (we actually had a spare SATAII150 at work), and I can tell you that they aren't Mac compatible. Actually, MacMall confirmed this as well (I called asking about the cards). Apparently they do sell a lot of products that aren't actually Mac compatible :confused:
