macbookpro screen dimming?

Just wondering if anyone would know why my screen is dimming after a bit of inactivity even when I have the box unchecked in my energy saver option?

System Preferences > Energy Saver > Click on the "Options" tab > Uncheck "Automatically reduce the brightness of the display before display sleep."

You'll have to adjust this for both Battery and AC power modes.
 
You may have to uncheck and recheck the box after each reboot. It's a documented problem on Apple's support site, but I don't have time to search for the article again.
 
Yeah I've tried check/unchecking it several times, and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Oh well...guess it's just something i'll have to live with...
 
Could it have something to do with the keyboard backlight and ambient light sensor?

But yeah, the ambient light sensor might be the culprit
Go to your display system preference and uncheck "Automatically adjust brightness as ambient light changes."
