Hey folks, I'm going to be getting a Mac Mini within a few months and I was wondering if it comes with OS X Tiger. That's it. Seriously...that's all I want to know! Thanks in advance!

If you buy it new from a retail store, and it has 10.3.x on it, you should get a free upgrade to 10.4. (Free downlaod of the OS, I think you have to pay to have a CD or DVD shipped to you, like $10 or so.)

Either way, retail or Apple store, you're covered.

Cool, thanks guys...yup, I'm migrating to Mac from PC....should be pretty sweet.

Most of the units in the retail stores should have a copy of tiger in the box (upgrade disk) along with the panter dvd it came with. By the time you get one it should not be an issue.

And they're not hard as concrete like those craptacular store brand cookies. They've got The Softness™.

Welcome to the Light Side of the force. We have cookies. Enjoy.

HEY! I got no cookie with my 20" iMac...thought at least I'd get a free apple. Golden Delicious=yummy

yep, it comes with Tiger and if you buy it from me, it comes with a nice discounted price. :D

I bought my Mini at Best Buy about 2 months ago (right before 10.4 came out) and it still had 10.37, however I doubt Best By sells many Macs. You can buy the OSX 10.4 upgrade from Apple for $10. Here is the link for that program.

you'll be amazed...we've sold quite a few iMacs without the customer seeing the actual product. mac sales are decent here at the Annapolis Best Buy considering we only have a mini on display.

Heh, I have walked through the local Best Buy 1000 times and thought they didn't even carry Apple. Then I saw the dock on a monitor that I walked by and started looking around. Low and behold a Mini crammed behind the monitor! There weren't any signs or anything to direct you to it.

It worked out awsome because I had about $150 in Best Buy rewards, so I got a Mini.

However I looked around and couldn't find any software.
