Is there really such a thing? I'd like to upgrade my mac mini, but i don't want to waste money on something I'll have to resell.

On that note, whats the most I can put in a G4 mac mini?

I have never had a problem with using any old RAM in a Mac. I think that Mac compatible memory is simply a way of getting you to spend more money. I've used:

Powermac G3 B&W
iMac G3 DV
Powermac G4 MDD
Powermac G4 Sawtooth
Powermac G4 Quicksilver
Aluminum iMac 2Ghz

I have swapped out RAM in all these machines, and just used no name brand RAM I had laying around.

The max RAM on a G4 mini is 1GB, and it has one slot of DDR PC3200 184 pin (Desktop) memory.
