Well I purchased a MX Duo from Overstock.com at the begining of the month. Love it....

But last night, the mouse started to blink red for a charging. I put it in the charger for about 10 min and then removed it for more gaming. Used it for a bit and seen the red led blink again. Since i needed to play, I changed the batteries. Since then, no matter what batteries or where the mouse is, it blinks red, the LED under the mouse also never stops blinking, even when in the charger. I cannot get this mouse to reconnect/work. I'm also past my 20 day return policy....

Also, if I cannot get this to work again, can I buy another MX700 and use the charger for the MX Duo?

LOL, well, I see that now. But since I replaced them witht the same brand (just charged) I didn't think it'd be a problem. Any actual advice?

Are you sure but in Nihm AA batteries? That's the kind it's supposed to use as opposed to regular AA. With my mx700, I think I have the red button blink maybe once since I've gotten it and that was becuase it was off the cradle and in a bag for a day and half while I was moving into my apartment for college. Also, whenever you're not using the mouse, you should but it back on the cradle. As I understand it, Nihm batteries don't build a memory, so it doesn't matter if the battery is totally dead before you start to recharge it (unlike say an electric razer). Hope this helps.

Yes, I was/am using Energizer Rechargeable 2100mAh batteries. Even when in the cradle, the mouse does not stop blinking either (top and bottom) leds.

The power is not connected. Wiggle the plug until the mouse stops blinking (while in the cradle)

Thus the mouse is not charging and is constantly flat, hence the red light.

Nope, that's not it. I reconnected everything and even tried using the USB commection instead of the PS2 port. I replugged everything too, thing is still blinking madly.

Have you run it completely dead? Also have you installed mouseware?

I believe it wasn't docked correctly. Many people report problems with the dock that it won't recharge. It's because of the original design. You have to make sure it actually connects with the gold conductors on the dock.

I have chenged batteries once again. Still no fix.

No, the Mouseware is not installed.

As for it's contact with the base, I cannot believe that is the problem. It worked a number of times, but there is no change when placed in the base now. Also, if I remove the batteries and place it in the base, the mouse powers itself and continues blinking like it does when batteries are installed.

If you can't get it fixed:

You can buy a replacement MX700 and it will charge in the cradle and it will synch with it. I had an MX700 before I bought the MX Duo (my keyboard died), and both MX700's will charge with the cradle. I just use one until it's dead, and then swap for the other one. :)
