Logitech G510 vs G105 keys

Hi all. I'm ready for a new kb, most likely logitech. I don't necessarily need the extra keys or lcd on the G510, I'm also ok with the green backlight & MW3 logo on the G105. I already have a G9x MW3 mouse courtesy of Logitech as a replacement for dying G9.

I guess the big question is the quality of the keys. Is there a significant difference mechanically??

TIA

"Mechanically" may be the wrong word, considering neither board is mechanical. But AFAIK they are the same board with a few different features. Same with the G110. I have the G510 and its been great. Even though mechanical boards are all the rage right now, I prefer the sound and smush of my logitech boards. =)

yeah mechanical was a bad choice of word as I'm aware of the difference...

quality/response etc is a better descriptions. I've seen some reviews describing the 105 as "cheap"

I ave considered mechanical but I don't think I'd see much benefit. I have been using a cheapo Rosewill KB with scissor switch type keys and I do like it, just ready for a change. I don't like keys with a rattly feel

Its not to say mechanical keyboards dont have their advantages. They have a huge variety of "feels" due to the different types of available switches, and they certainly have a longer lifespan in terms of individual key presses, but I think it comes down to personal feel and taste. I don't like the loud sound and clicky feel of a mechanical board, I like the nice quiet mushy feel of the logitechs I am accustomed too. I love my g510 and plan on getting a G19. Many say its a waste of money, but I love and constantly use the LCD on my board, and I can tell you it isn't cheap feeling.

Here is a review of the G105 my machinima and they actually took a shotgun to it,and it held up well. Took a solid 10 shots. Cheap isn't the word.

nice review & thanks for the info. I'm still undecided but it's still G105 or G510
