... ok so i got this g5 about 3 weeks ago, and only just recently have i started having problems.... actually i think it mightve been since i installed my ipod + itunes but i could be wrong.

my mouse randomly changes dpi on its own... right now i have it on the highest it can go, but evrey now and then the pointer will freeze for a second and the dpi will change one step lower... the led on the mouse will drop down a notch too. all by itself.

very strange, and i just did the firmware update but no change, and im using the newest drivers.

i might install the drivers again just to make sure.

i have my mouse plugged into my dell 2005fpw, and my ipod plugged into a diff port directly on my pc.

if anyone has any ideas id like to hear em.

Have you tried uninstalling Itunes to see if it still does this? I was going to say that the mouse plugged into the monitor might be something but you said it just started happening. Isnt the USB hub on the monitor only a usb 1.1?
 
yeah it is only 1.1... but i did have a razer diamondback plugged into it with no problems for 5 months or so.

so far ive uninstalled alot of unused progrmas on my pc... havent removied itunes yet but i also removed the setpoint drivers/app for the mouse and so far its been good.

will try a reinstall of setpoint program in a bit.
 
try plugging your mouse into something else, i don't care if it's just now happening, it's always good to eliminate one more element from the problem to start with
