Local AI for document parsing, etc

Hi all,
I don't know where to get started but I want to investigate running localized AI for parsing through my documents such as a PDF Library having hundreds of GBs of books and also my own personal writings and notes. I'm an author so I have a lot of material that I've written over the years that I want to analyze.

I don't need instant answers so speed is not a key point now. Can you tell me what to search on Google to find these answers? Not a computer programmer (hobbyist level, have done some work in python years ago) but able to work in Linux and command line. Just looking for guidance to some material and also terminology. Thanks in advance

"docmind" may work for that.

My memory says that Ollama has a library entrry to parse PDFs, but I can't find it right now.

Get ollama setup and find a model to do what you want. I've just used language models though, nothing for parsing imagines. Anticipate atleast a moderate hardware demand.
