So my PC I want to use as a server, actually a specific folder "work presentations". But say I'm in my living room and I'm on my laptop. How do I download a file let says "Aug24Presentation" to my server pc? I mean most of the transferring work would be done on my laptop right? I don't want anything on taking up space small hard drive. So what's the best way to make that folder public and not waste space on the laptop? Both of these PC's are running windows 10. Thanks a lot!

Create a home group with the 2 computers and it will offer up network sharing of files and printers etc. between the two with the exception of documents. Just select the checkbox for documents and away you go.
You may have to specify folders or drives however that only requires right clicking on either one and selecting Share.
