I have a Samsung 930B LCD, and I have it set at 1280x1024 32bit colour, and the refresh rate is at 75 Hertz. Is it safe to put it at 85 Hertz? because the hide mode is on and it only goes to 75 Hertz but I would like to put it higher so it doesnt bug my eyes out.

Will it do anything to my moniter if I set it higher

thanks :)

It shouldn't hurt it at all to set it at the highest refresh rate you can select. LCD's dont refresh like CRT's and the refresh rate for LCD's is only depedent upon the video card bandwidth as to how high you can select.

I've never heard of anyone having troubles with their LCD because of setting the refresh rate too high anyways.

I don't think it will do any damage, since LCD's don't have refresh rates anyway. You can set it higher and see if you like it better that way, though I believe 75hrz is recomended for LCD's.

LCD's do not have a Cathode Ray Gun so they should not bug your eyes. Setting the refresh rate higher will do nothing for desktop work.

Increasing the refresh rate increases the rate at which the video card sends data to the display and in turn will increase the responsiveness of things like your mouse pointer. It will also help with when you enable v-sync and it caps your FPS at whatever your refresh rate is set at.

All V-sync helps is tearing which I get hardly at all.

As for the refresh rate increasing the rate of bandwidth sent to the monitor, well I guess that makes sense :p
