Layout Suggestions?

the new one's more streamlined, but soo much white-space on the right side? i definately don't like that..

consider a grey background? or black, perhaps? (for the new one, definately go for the new one).
 
As others have said, the new one is nicer, but has a bit too much unused space on the right.
 
you want to explicitly set your body background. people like me who have a different default background color make the site look a bit different than what you're intending

also, get a doctype, and try to not use tables when possible (for layout that is, the rank site description stuff is tabular and tables are fine for that)
 
alright thanks, the white space is for anyone over 800x600 basically... I hate working with variabl;e widths cause its hard to make it look the way you want. I'll alter the background like you suggested and see what to do about the white space...thanks

Also just so ya know /new/ is now gone and is the main layout
