Not sure if this should be in audio or mobile computing.... sorry if i goofed.

Basically, i just bought myself a new laptop and I'm very disappointed with the onboard audio. My headphones don't get enough juice and the laptop speakers kinda suck (a lot). I'm wondering if i should go with an x-fi card for the laptop (think it has the express card bus slot thing... [the laptop cost $2k so it damn well better have the newest stuff). I've also been looking at the 'x-mod' and was wondering if that would be a better solution...

Any help is appreciated... Cost isn't a huge concern seeing as the holidays are approaching and such. I just want to be able to blast music on the go.

Thanks

If you want to do true multi-channel sound, the X-Mod is no good as it only supports 2.1

I'm really just concerned with my 2.1 Klipsche and my headphones. So 2.1 would be enough. I just want the best bang for my buck (no kidding) between the x-mod or the x-fi (or some other product that i have yet to discover...)

Thanks again
