laptop charging problem

Hey,

So I'm not sure what my problem is with my laptop. I'm guessing either the battery or the power cord. I think this happened after I tripped over the cord and pulled it harder than it could handle. Now when I try to power my laptop, the cord/plug have to be in just the right position for the laptop to be charged. It's pretty annoying and there have been times when I've had to fiddle with the cord and/or the plug into the battery for several minutes in order for my laptop to receive power. Any idea what I need to replace?

Thanks in advance!

The power plug is ALWAYS the first thing that breaks. Every appliance/gear i have always has either the powerplug or audio plug breaking from fatigue. Laptops included. So you could try looking into that first.

On some laptops the DC jack on the motherboard is modular and on others the entire motherboard needs to be replaced.
