My dad has an old Pentium III GateWay and the key mapping is screwed up.

for example, when you press O it prints and a 6 on the screen instead of an O. i think about 8 keys are messed up that way. He said it started after he tried an old optical mouse and it just went crazy and when he moved it just clicked randomly and went bezerk.

Is there someway to fix the key mapping? or something to fix it?

i scanned for viruses and spyware but that didn't fix it. I really dont feel like reinstalling the OS. oh yeah, the OS is Windows XP sp2.
thanks

Numlock key is on. Laptops have an embedded numeric keypad on the right side..

Don't feel bad. Customer called me yesterday, said it was an emergency. There wireless network was down. The laptop had an On/Off switch for the wireless on the front. LOL They somehow pressed it.
