KVM or USB Switch?

I have 2 computers and want to use 1 monitor, keyboard, and mouse for both of them. The monitor isn't an issue since it has 2 inputs, but I also have a PS/2 keyboard and a USB mouse. I was thinking about just buying a KVM switch, but since I don't really need the monitor connection I thought about maybe just using a USB switch. If I got a PS/2 to USB adapter for my keyboard, would a USB switch achieve what I'm after? Any recommendations?

I would use the USB thing. In my experience, KVMs always limit the frequency of the monitor and make my eyes hurt.
