Well, Lycos or something installed in my IE. Now I can't open it, it automatically errors it and asks me if I want to send a report. It sucks, anyway to fix this?

What I remember last is something being installed in my search thing, and I tried to fix it.

Alright, the problem is that some third party software installed itself in my Search thing. Is there a way to fix it or return my search to normal?

Freaking lycos or something installed itself in my IE.

I did, but it's not working here's the error

Paging all 'omg u dont use firebird/mozilla/opera/avant/lynx so u r a fag' people to thread...

Don't worry, they'll be here soon :)

I'll try and sneak in something useful before they get here.

Given you've tried spybot and adaware to no avail, your best bet would be hijackthis - http://mjc1.com/mirror/hjt/

Download, run and if you can't identify the problem, post the output and once we've fought off the 'omg u r ie fag' people, maybe someone will be able to help. Hang with it though, it'll take a while to wade through them all.

Alright, I fixed it but now I have the problem if I click search it does the thing.

So the program is still in my search, how do I make my search go back to normal/default?

It's probably not going to work. You've been hijacked dude. It happened to me once, and it sucks. To try to reset to default which is MSN, go-

Tools...Internet Options...Programs Tab...and there's a Reset Web Settings button.

There's a spyware program called SpySweeper that PC Magazine found did a better job of REMOVING spyware than the others. It's not free though. You can try it free, but I'll bet it only detects for free, and you'll have to buy it for $29.95 to remove. Not sure on that, just a guess.

Good Luck

Start in safe mode and try a system restore from there and see if it helps..i know not a perfect solution but it may revive IE,,
