Does anyone see the potential for using this in motion capture for TV shows and such? Would be way easier then the room size systems they have now. *shrug*
 
I hate to be a grammar nazi, but Media Access Control is different than a Macintosh, one being an acronym and the other being a shorthand brand name. Even my CCNA book fucked it up.
 
The Kinect is far more interesting as a hacked PC addon than it is on the 360.
 
Is that the same guy with the 3D stuff? Looks similar... or do all Kinect 'hackers' look like that?

...and yeah, seems like an extra level of frustration to do it on a Mac!

You do realize that capitalizing a word doesn't automatically mean it's an acronym? I mean, just because I say "that person was being so RETARDED" doesn't mean that it has to stand for something like "Rectally Enlarged Typhoid Afflicted Redneck Eats Dick". Maybe I was just adding emphasis? I can't speak for everyone though. But then I MUST (whoops) be wrong. You're must be SOOOO clever with your CCNA books and all.
 
I think it's great the potential that people have with the Kinect hardware. This was just a quick project, I can't wait to see what kind of home-grown stuff gets made when people really put some development time into it.
 
someone make a pr0n simulator that tracks your shlong and plays a pr0n movie as background for you to "interact" with. kinect would be permanently out of stock for the next two years. and imagine the "peripherals" you could make. ;)

Proper use of emphasis would involve a different method than using all caps, but I digress...

Does Microsoft have a patent on Kinect tech or can other companies make similar/better versions?
