I have a 6800nu.
Lately I've noticed my idle temp is 75-85cc. With the Ambient temp around 55c.
Once I start up World of Warcraft after a few minutes it shoots upto somewhere around 120-130c which causes artifacting. It'll keep running though. I have no idea what the problem is suddenly. The fan on the card is still working too.

Dust on the heatsink? And how's the airflow in your case? 55c seems too high a temp, unless you're trying to run the computer in a sauna. What's ambient in the room with the computer?

So are you asking a question? If you want to know what to do, either reseat your current solution or find a new one. 55 is way too high for ambient also. Where are you? Arizona with no AC?

I'm in NYC..its not that hot in the room. It's a bedroom with an AC in it. I'll try reseating the card in the mourning.

Not the card. They meant reseat the hsf on the card. It might have separated and is no longer making contact well enough, so it can't do its job.
