Infrared Temperature Guns?

I want to invest in an IR temperature gun, but there are so many choices. Some on eBay are ever $15-$20.

[H] members, based on your experiences, which model is a worthy investment?

If I was you I would go with model http://thermoworks.com/products/ir/irk.html

It does both infrared and comes with a thermocouple for foods and stuff. Thermoworks is about the best you can buy as well. I have some of their other products and they are very good.

We use those at work for production. These do have a thermocouple as well. Also, with IR guns, the further you are from the target, the wider the spot reading is.

Don't buy a cheap POS, we found that the temps varied wildly. The flukes can also be calibrated which we do in-house as well.

I have the Fluke one but I have a European Body version i think.

Works great got it form Working with TOSystems. Now i am using it for RC racing LMAO.
To temp my Brushless Motors and their operating temps =D

If the flukes are used, find out about the calibration. You can also calibrate it yourself to a known source of heat. I believe you can use ice water with a typical glass thermometer in it.

Man if you just want a couple of quick measurements get a Rosewill from Newegg for $20 on sale. If you need precise measurements for business or something important then get the Fluke. $$$ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16896268001 -Rosewill - I have one & it works ok.

Wouldn't buy one from ebay myself. They are pretty cheap from newegg and amazon already.
