Hey guys. Yesterday, I started having this problem - I can use the internet with Internet Explorer (a little more slowly than usual) but Firefox hardly ever works. I can conenct to AIM fine, and everything else that uses the internet seems to work, except when I try to ping a server through command prompt - all of the requests time out. There is a firewall at my school, but I've never had problems with it before. Any ideas? Do I need a new network card? (I'm currently using an ancient Compaq PCI network card.)

Sounds like you could have IE proxy settings being pushed through GPO or scripted via login script. This would not get laid down to Firefox. Talk with your school admin.

Well, here's the thing - I restarted the computer this morning, then it worked fine up unitl now. This confuses me.

Edit: IE even seems to be failing to load some pages.

uninstall firefox then reinstall, that worked at my school. But now all of the school computers use firefox so id does not matter for me.
