Trying to build a file server out of spare components. So I have a FIC AZ11 mobo, ATI 8500 AIW, SB Platinum, Intel NIC, Pioneer DVD Drive, and the newest addition - a Silicon Image SI680 IDE controller.

With the IDE controller plugged in, the master drive (30GB Maxtor) and DVD drive will not be recognized... and the system will not boot. Unplug the IDE controller, and everything will work as required. Any ideas on how to get this system running with the IDE controller? I have 5 120GB drives waiting to get loaded up.

check the bios, sounds like its trying to boot from that card only and not see the other IDE lines
