MS is going to take a LARGE share of the console market with Xbox 360 at launch. This thing is a beast. Not to say the PS3, won't be. But I think getting this out the door first is a smart move by MS.

/flame on :p

Being second means up is the only way you can go.

Well...you could go down...but that won't happen.

I will probably own all three new consoles at some point, but I know for a fact that Xbox360 will be in my living room on day one of launch.

BTW...Gamestop and EB have started taking pre-orders. ;)

its a GOOD thing. Sony has made too much $ from games. that lil damn PSP already making 5x of the actual cost of the product. If Xbox can get more share from Sony, either sony will stop making hard-to-program, worst in graphic quality system and actually wipe their ass n move on like Nvidia (FX series just plain sux).

But u gotta support nintendo, even their game sux :)

I strongly agree. I also feel that PC gaming will become even more niche, as unspeakable as that probably is in a community like this. But the next generation will make games more prominent than you've ever seen in the mindset of the population, and Microsoft is kicking it off ("next-gen" is undeniably buzzwordy). Gaming is truly just a baby, and here's to the growth of it..

Nintendo games suck?? lol if that's what you meant, I'm going to fight to refrain from flaming you. Apparently the PS3 will be a beast hardware wise, according to rumours.

Even Sony's PR department took a swipe at MS.
Bill Gates said that Sony was their only competition (and they're looking to wipe them out) and Nintendo will just be a niche player next time around.

Sony, which I have to commend for doing (especially considering this shows a bit of respect for Nintendo, the creators of mainstream videogames, despite years of their heated stubborn competition) responded with "We are looking to bring an actual technological leap, not just XBox 1.5"

I've got to say that even though I'm not a console guy the Xbox 360 has peeked my interest. But I really have to think that Sony will be bringing an equally astounding product to market. They've been keen on the multimedia all-in-one idea that the Xbox is pushing but their take on the idea just never took off in the US. The thing I don't understand is what has taken them so long. I would guess the cell processor idea is a bit too far ahead of its time and is delaying the whole platform. Anyway, this round is a lot more interesting than the last couple.
