hi everyone..... lately i've been increasingly annoyed wiht my promedias, i want better sound (yeah, im bad)...... well with my audigy 2 zs, is it possible to connect it to a receiver with something like a minijack to rca connector, and then hookup better speakers? i think i'd like a home audio system more than this. also, how much could a HT system that's better than the promedias cost?

rca to mini-jack would work just fine.
well, there are entry HT-in-a-box for all kinds of price ranges. Some aren't bad either.
What is the most important to you when it comes to audio: games, movies, or music?
How much money are you willing to spend on this?

What's the budget?

Unless you are willing to devote >=$500 to a proper HT rig, I'd generally say that it's better to go with an active speaker set. Believe it or not, ther are better computer speakers on the market than the Promedias. Swans and M-audio are two companies that come to mind that make some nice sounding active speakers.

p.s. active speakers are speaker sets with integrated amplifiers. Most all computer speakers are active speaker sets, but not all active speakers are strictly intended for computer use.

well i already have an MTX 12" sub. i may go to circuit city and snag a set of monitor 10's for 300 for the pair.... and i'll refund $380 for my promedias from best buy. my brother has an extra receiver he can give me. so that leaves me needing surround and center channel. any suggestions?

you can try to purchase speakers from any music store

yes that right music store. Go to thier mixing section or to thier computer audio section. Usually have speakers like yamaha's, Alesis, Roland, etc. It also all depends on your budget.

Ahh... Color me unobservant. He needs decent bass management with his decent sub.

Do you say he needs a Revolution?
