Need to vent a little.
How long would you generally say is a fair amount of time to wait before getting fed-up with a deal? As a trader I always ship within 2 days of the receipt of the $$$, esp. when I get it on weekends. Twice right now, however, i've had sellers who I guess just aren't the best at communication, and have delayed sending me my stuff, one for 5 days, the other for more than two weeks (although that is due to Holiday complications and whatnot, totally understandable). Also, what advice can you give about keeping communication open with these guys? I have full confidence that neither of them are trolls, but they take a couple of days to respond to my e-mails... is it that hard to check more than once every couple of days, I mean come on!
 
after 3 weeks of a seller giving excuses id start to think hes a troll....a month and a half id request my money back. 2 months with no product/cash id leave negative heat
 
I'm curious as to why people have such a long time frame before demanding shipment of the product. According to paypal, a responsible seller should ship no later than 7 days after payment, at the latest. After that time period u are basically playing with fire and it is likely very difficult to get your money back. It is also very wise to set a specific date on when an item should be shipped out by whether purchased through a forum or ebay. This is because if the seller never agrees upon a date to ship the items, the individual can actually legally ship at the time of their discretion: say 10 years down the line or right before u have the troll police come get him.
 
those are some long time frames. i dont have the patience for that, if i send money right away, i expect shipment right away, unless previously discussed and agreed upon. as a responsible seller, i hate people who have excuses for not being able to get to the post office. that is ridiculous. if you post something for sale, take responsibility and ship it out right away after payment is recieved PERIOD also if you sell something make sure to let the buyer know you shipped it. i hate having to ask someone if they shipped it or not. i would think it is just common courtesy to let the buyer know you've sent out their package. i could rant on and on about this, but i guess the real rule of thumb is: Buyer Beware

But yeah I totally agree with myself/others in this thread, I don't think i'll ever wait this long again for people to ship. Even if it is a ridiculously raping deal that i'm going to make $400 in profit off of... :D
 
Why is it so hard for people to ship as soon as they get payment? Do you think they would wait 2 weeks before cashing a money order or western union? Its funny how all the excuses come out on why they cant ship but always have the time to take your cash :rolleyes: I always ship same or next business day i get the money and i expect nothing less if i purchase something.
 
I try to ship same day or next day as well. I figure its a common courtesy.
 
Yeah, I think 2 business day after payment should be the expected norm unless there is special conversation between the two parties. A lot of the excuses I've seen is that the item is still installed on a system and needs to wait for replacement. How lame is that? Once the item is listed, the seller must make sure that the item is already tested and replacement is ready and by the time the item is sold, the item should be immediately swapped out to be packaged. More than one business week after payment is too long.
