how long is stalker

how many hours would it take to get through stalker and explore everything? im leaving the country in 2 weeks for 7 months and im wondering if i should start it or not i dont want to play halfway through it and have to stop?
 
If you ruash you can finish the main quest in under 30 hours, tha sees to be the review consensus. If you want to spend you time exploring and such it can take up to 50.
 
From what I've read, it kind of depends on what you consider "beating the game". It's kind of like Oblivion; a main quest with a bunch of side quests. Beating the main quest is short and easy, like Oblivion-- while doing EVERY quest as well as the main quest; I'm sure that will take awhile.
 
The "main" story quests only take about 4-6 hours to beat. No joke. But the ending SUCKS if you only do the main story quests.

I am playing through again, only this time I am trying to find that Strelok guy and find out more about my past. At first I thought that I would uncover that by completing the main quests, but it turns out that you have to do that separately.

So a warning to all you who think the main quest is all you really need to do - IT IS NOT! Be sure to follow up on leads to Strelok! And be sure to help out Duty too!
