i have removed and re-installed catalyst control center dozens of times and of all the attempts i could not get it to open! when i right click and click on catalyst the loading circle next to my cursor appears for a few seconds and disappears! i check windows task manager and check in the process tab i can see CCC running. i've checked many forums an d it seems this has been a problem for YEARS. can someone help me fix this? all i want to do is change the overscan so that i can go full screen. (just installed a new gpu)

Uninstall the driver in safe mode, reboot and run driver sweeper to remove any files left by amd uninstaller. Reboot again then reinstall video driver by the "custom" install method and the CCC should open now.

Uninstall the catalyst install manager in safe mode, it may say that it is already uninstalled. If so, it will ask you if you want to remove the entry from the Programs list.. Do so.. then try reinstalling your drivers.
just to note: does your computer show the ati driver still installed in the device manager? if so right click the driver there, update driver, then load the "standard vga driver" then reboot,, and run driver sweeper as administrator and make sure there are no other leftovers from the install. then install the proper driver package for your card.
