Yep, another HL2 thread. This is for those of us that are playing it. Keep your bitching about Steam and such to yourself. If you don't want to see spoilers, don't read this thread.

Ok, now that all that is out of the way - I wanted a place to talk about scenes that blew you away. The game is beautiful and a blast to play, but so far the scene that damn near made me blow my load was when the smokestack was knocked over in front of you in the canal. The whole time it was falling I was yelling "shit shit shit" and was hoping I would beat it down, then it fell in front of me and I thought I was screwed - right up until I jumped it like Dukes of Hazzard or something. That was too damn sweet.

Any specific scenes stand out for you all?

SPOILER ALERT

One part that at first blew me away was when the teleporter went awry and i teleported to many places. THen when things were back to normal, barney pointed me to the citadel, and seeing it for the first time really blew my mind it was awesome. Not to mention seeing those helicopters for the first time, and getting the GRAVITY GUN!!!!!

yeah, when i blew up a flamable barrel, which released a log connectd to a rope that slammed into a gate and knocked the gate open (this is during the canal part of the game). I just thought that was sweet.

Awesome idea for a thread, this is the kinda stuff I like to hear.

BTW, that smokestack falling was awesome for sure, I saw that thing coming down and was like oooooooooooooooh am I gonna make it!!!!11111, i didn't, heh

The physics in this game are friggin sweet, very realistic.

It was fun driving around in the buggy in the Coast levels and hitting that Turbo and having a handbrake!

Thanks, it really means something coming from an editor.

I haven't gotten to the buggy yet, but I wasn't happy to see the airboat ride end. Although watching Alex again almost makes it worth it. Those jeans are painted on, they are so tight.

Yes, I do have a life, really!

Running like mad and ducking in containers to keep the Hunter Chopper from pumping me full of lead! That part was awesome. So frantic.

Also, at the very beginning when I turned around and saw a train headed my way. It was only about five feet or so away from me when I hauled ass in the other direction, narrowly making it into the nearby open railroad car.

I'm at Ravenholm right now, and it's my least favorite part so far.

My favorite so far was the crane. When I dropped two cargo boxes and a buggy on four soldiers, I shat. It was amazing.

*Salivates*

I never played Commander Keen, so I probably wouldn't get it.

The bridge part had me scared shitless. Crossing the bridge underneath the road while being shot at I could feel the shaky feeling I get from heights. Thats some realism if its got me damn near frozen with fear.

Oh, and I want a Dog.

best part by far was inside the citadel, taking the ride in that metal body case was the mose unblieveable thing i've ever seen in a game
