I'm troubleshooting a newfound problem that my computer has (locking up/freezing completely when running 3D applications). Usually it does not freeze immediately, but after 10-20 minutes or so. I've swapped out the PSU and the graphics card with same results. Any ideas what else it could be?

could it be getting hot?? put a portable fan next to it and see. Next try the RAM.

It appears to be a cooling problem; putting a portable fan next to the setup prevents the system from freezing. Maybe the heatsink on the CPU is not firmly attached?

Do you know what the temps are?

I;'d try reseating the HSF.

Did you build this yourself?
Did you put thermal paste on it? Perhaps too much or too little?
You didn't use both the thermal pad on the heatsink and the thermal paste? Oh, and if you're using the thermal pad, you took the cover off of it?
