Help overclocking E1200

I have two supposedly good Matx boards (Asus P5K-VM and Gigabyte G33M DS2R) and an Asus Blitz Formula. Using OCZ 6400 RAM I can overclock the E1200 (800FSB) from 1.6Ghz to 3.4Ghz on the Asus blitz with a FSB of 425x8 with the ram well over 900mhz.

Now I can't seem to be able to do anything like this with the other boards - namely getting over 330FSB with the Gigabyte, and struggling to get over 340FSB with the P5K-VM. I know both boards are good for 400mhz+, my ram isn't limiting it and the CPU isn't either. What's holding me back?????
 
I got the CPU up to 3.4Ghz using 1.55v on the blitz, with all other voltages at default. Using this or even higher - 1.575v on the other boards doesn't have any effect, it's like there is a wall at 330fsb on the gigabyte and 340 on the Asus P5K. Highest I can get it is 2.7Ghz as a result.
 
Try setting the FSB straight to 401? I'm not sure if the FSB hole is still there on the current generation of Intel chipsets.
 
Can we safely assume that you're using a plug-in PCIe card, and not trying to OC using the integrated? The onboard graphics will really cripple any overclocking.
 
Tried shoving it up to 401 and it doesn't boot. Yes I'm using a basic PCI-E card and have disabled the onboard graphics. I think it's the board not likeing the CPU. I put my E6600 in it and it will do 400+ fine??? Just seems strange the CPU will plod along happily at 3.4Ghz and 400+fsb on my Blitz but won't get passed 330FSB on the mATX boards.
 
I was reading a review the other day at tomshardware where a 351 fsb booted up, but 352 did not. For some reason it seemed that even numbers did not work but odds did. They were doing this on a p5b, they just kept on upping the fsb by one until they were able to get to 370 that way. It's time consuming, but you could do something like that to see how close you can get to 400 fsb.
