Hey guys! I have tried to upgrade my friends Dell Dimension 9100 with new additional parts and it is acting pretty wierd now. Upgraded parts include;

1.Intel Core 2 Duo 3ghz LGA775
2.8800 GTS card
3.G Skill 4gb ram
4.Western Digi 150gb Raptor

I installed everything and when i turn the computer on, it doesnt even boot up, it just sits there , all the parts are on, the hdd is moving, GPU fan moving, but my mouse, keyboard, and screen get nada. Zero power to the mouse and kb and the screen just sleeps, the front HDD led stays orange also, indicating that its sleeping.

Does anybody have any ideas? it really sucks that I cant even get the cmos to load. Ive tried resetting the cmos using the jumpers and nothing, same result.

The only stock part left is the Mobo (im currently using a 670watt modular psu from my comp)

Im starting to think maybe the motherboard is screwin it all up?...

any help or ideas would be great, ive built a ton of computers but modding the dells always seems difficult. also if you have a better forum i could post this in please let me know!

Regards,

My guess is that the motherboard doesnt support either the ram or more likely the core 2 dou you put into it, as it originally had a p4, and was from dell

This one is rreeallyy simple to figure out. Go back to the stock configuration and make sure the PC still works and you did not lose a mainboard or anything. Then add in parts one at a time until it stops working, then you found your problem.
