I want a laptop that has a 15 or 15.4 inch screen and i want the over all dimensions to be as small as possible. I also want the laptop to be able to play games like HL2 nicely. Do you guys thinkl a video card like the nvidia go 6600 or the radeon x700 are good enough to play games like HL2 decently? Ive been looking into some of the sager notebooks. The two centrino ones look pretty nice as long as the np7620 which comes with either the 6800 or the x800 but its also pretty big. So im leaning a little more towards the centrinos. My price limit its a little over 3 grand so probally leaves me with alot of options i dont even know about. I really like dells but from what i can see they only have 17inch notebooks that come with a decent video card.

Look at the Asus Z71V. Pentium M CPU and GeForce 6600 go. Directron.com has a nice system for around $1300. 1.73GHz CPU, 512MB RAM, 60GB Drive, DVD/CDRW

3K? ok  Well, I spent around $2,100 for my XPS GEN 2.Which puts my P3.4 E to shame :( I often play Battlefield 2 @ 1920x1200 with the majority of details on (med shadows, lighting) on the 64 player servers.Wih no HD swapping.

I play Half Life 2 and Doom 3 at the same resolutions. with no problems at all.My 3DMark05 score is around 5900-6000+ I forget :p as real world gaming performance matters the most to me :)

is the 6600 go a nice enough video card to play games like HL2 nicely?

I call BS on your 05 score. The highest I have seen an XPS2 do is ~5250. I have a 6800 Ultra Go card OC'd running with a 3.8 (570J) and I get ~5350. Most high end desktops (pre GTX and not-running SLI) rarely achieve higher than 5500.

Could you kindly remove my laptop is faster then your laptop in your sig :D

Shoman, a user here and notebookforums should have simuliar results :p

I have been humbled - what clocks are you running on your card?

Yeah our dell XPS2's seem to really not mind OC'ing and getting really high benchmarks. I have left mine stock and i get between 5200-5300 but with the Vid cards bios flashed they can get nuts.
