My specs are below in my sig and its a socket 478 mobo...

3.2Eghz Prescott P4 w/1mb cache
http://www.a2zcomp.com/buy.asp!!!!!!!12&SKU=BX32800EOEM

3.4Ghz Northwood w/512kb cache
http://www.ewiz.com/query.php?dp=3&categry=1&s=Pentium%204&Go_Search!_x=14&Go_Search!_y=8&dt=&ob=&nl=10&anchor=#displaytop

They are both less than $115...I can only afford a cpu around this price range atm. If you have any other suggestions, please tell me. Thanks!

Yes...it would have to be Intel as I seriously doubt you could shove an AMD CPU in to a socket 478 MB...

Now that I am done being a smart-ass...I can't help you. I don't "DO" Intel, though my best guess would be to go with the more cache and overclock.

I don't overclock, thats the thing. Anyone else have anymore suggestions?

northwoods tend to run a LOT cooler than Prescotts, I would go with the northwood. smaller cache vs more mhz, they bother should perform about the same, but with the northwood you would have lower temps.

I have a suggestion,

by anything socket 478 used because new prices are outrageous.

and also, Celeron D's are not that bad at all.

I'm still using 478 & AGP. My 3.0E presscott runs just fine, but hot. I had a 2.8 Celeron D before this, it did just fine.
