So I just installed the Thermaltake Icage into my Thermaltake Armour+. The thing fit in tight and now when the computer is running I can hear the hard drives spinning causing a slight high pitched squeal (like the ringing in your ears kind). Anyone have any ideas on how to fix it without pitching the adaptor? I dont know if you can purchase rubber grommets for the connection between the hard drive and the adaptor. If so links to them would be greatly appreciated....:D

I'd first look for something that's touching the fan blades. If nothing internal to the drive cage, check for cable/wire in back of the drive cage that's protruding through the back of the fan grille.

It seems that such contact should produce a high-pitched buzz, frequency-dependent on the speed of the (apparently) 7-bladed cooling fan.

If none of the drives squeal when not mounted in the case, they should not squeal when mounted in the case.

:D I forgot to mention that I took off that fan entirely. I already have 4 SilenX 90CFM fans and another 72 CM fan in the case plus the CPU cooler and sidemounted fan (so I didnt really need that one). That and I hate blue LED fans. :p Its the drives passing on their vibrations to the chassis IMO. I disconnected the SATA power and booted into just the Bios and the noise went away.

I just need some way to help isolate the drives from the adaptor (as their is no room between the adaptor and chassis)

Plain washers don't help because it would have to prevent also screws from touching cage. (any hard contact is enough)
So you'll have to mod cage and how HDDs are attached to it or get one with soft mounting.
 
What about suspending the hard drive in a CDrom bay with sewing elastic. Works a treat.

have a pic to explain how that one works? :D Not opposed to ghetto mods, however I do want to make sure I can fit 3 hdd's in the three remaining cd drive bays..
