Any suggestions on a good program i can use to test hard drives? I have a box full of drives and i know some are bad and some are good and would really like to get them sorted out.

You can start by going to the manufacturer's website(s) and downloading their diagnostic tools.

FYI, Hitachi's software runs on all mfr's drives, and seems to work pretty well. Most manufacturers only let you use their software on their drives. If you don't want to mess with 40 different softwares, give it a try.

well did some asking around and a buddy of mine at work sent me this. thought i would share:

Check out http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/. You can download an ISO for a boot CD that has pretty much any boot diagnostic, tool, etc. you could ever want. It has HDD diags for pretty well every brand of HDD and I’ve put it to great use.
