• Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.

Lukas Grunwald, the guy that cloned an e-passport after studying the publicly available information on the International Civil Aviation Organization’s website, is now able to crash e-passport readers. The white-hat hacker will demonstrate the technique at DefCon in Las Vegas.

This time, however, he's crashing RFID readers to demonstrate how a hacked passport could conceivably force approval of expired or forged passports. After all, "If you're able to crash something you are most likely able to exploit it," says Grunwald.

I don't think this guy realizes how impatient the Customs officers are... if your passport fails, they are most likely going to toss you to another agent for questioning or re-issueing... or just flat out deny you entry.

I suppose it could happen, but a person could also swim across the great lakes or walk across the border instead of challenging the customs in a dangerous game that would end you in many years sentence.

I would like to see if his proof of concept actually works, probably the Customs would fix this before defcon... or even better yet, send out an alert that the passport has been tampered with.
