Steve Jobs had emergency surgery this weekend to remove a cancerous tumor from his pancreas, and he emailed all the employees at Apple from his hospital bed on Sunday to let them know the surgery was a success, it is a rare form of cancer that is totally survivable when caught early, which it was, and that he wouldn't need chemo or radiation treatment. He also said he would be taking the month of August off to recover, but would be in touch daily through phone & email.

Here's to wishing Steve a quick recovery.

It is great that they caught it early. Pancreatic cancer is one of the worst. I am glad that he had a rare and treatable form. Pancreatic cancer is often a death sentence.

Edited because I forgot to include that it was on his pancreas. What's funny is one of the Google News links was to CCN Financial, talking about how poorly Apple did in the early to mid 90's when Jobs was at NeXT, and the stock fell 2% in trading today. Are moneymen that fucking retarded? The guy had a scare, he's alright, he's working home for a month, and will be back shortly. Do they really panic this quickly and jump screaming from one of the only tech companies to grow and make a profit in today's market?

It's the same type of scare whenever a new president is elected. While nothing is really changing, everything is changing in the market's eyes. Go figure. It's strange...
