general question about HP laptops

Most HP laptops now come with a recovery partition...as u know..

if this parition is removed....and the user selects the "reset to original factory state" in the recovery manager (from the recovery discs) will this also reinstall the recovery partition even if its missing?
 
I believe so, given that the recovery disc will repartition the drive on new drives. It's basically just bringing back a ghosted pre-install image.

that's been my experience. I went from an Ubuntu Install to the XP image. (Working at Circuit City in the Firedog department means I can just get the XP image for the DV9000 models...figured I'd give it a shot)
