Hey chums quick question, I'm thing about getting the G35s since i find them to be a pretty cool headset. I have the
now and I am wondering with a USB headset, if i choose, can i use just the mic and my regular desktop speakers for sound sometimes? Or do I always have to use the Headset speakers and mic together if i want to use the mic.

Also throw in you opinions on the headsets, keep in mind i'm using on board audio with the analog jack.

I have the G35's and love them........Not sure about the mic question, I can through the sound options use both but kinda pointless as you have the headphones on when using the mic.

Take the plunge, I like mine.

I like mine. You can set the source for audio & mic. You can change in volume control panel or thru G35 controls.

I found out just by trying one that you can make the speakers default thought sound options, so if I wanted to give my ear a break from the headset I can switch to the speakers.

I don't personally have a set, but one of the gals in our gaming circle has a pair. They are a bit too clampy for my taste, so I can't vouch for their long-term comfort...sound quality, though, is great for a USB headset. Deep bass, decent soundstage...oh, and having the volume control right on the headset freakin' RULES.

They aren't really my style as far as headphones are concerned, but they still seem well worth the money.
